Welcome to Bonnet Bay Public School. Our amazing school, yet modest in size, is an integral part of a vibrant and resilient community, reflecting our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of educational excellence with our school motto “Learn to Grow, Grow to Learn”.
Nestled within the ancestral lands of the Dharawal-speaking people, in the heart of the Sutherland Shire, our school is strategically positioned, merely 40 minutes south of the bustling Sydney Central Business District and 50 minutes from the Parramatta CBD. The picturesque Bonnet Bay, situated along the serene Woronora River, is renowned for its lush bush reserves. During the festive season, the local community comes together to illuminate the surroundings with enchanting displays of fairy lights and Christmas ornaments, fostering a warm sense of community spirit.
Bonnet Bay Public School has a strong and dedicated staff who strive for high standards in teaching and learning by continually improving their professional knowledge, practice and engagement. Our passion for excellence is to ensure all students are known, valued and cared for, whilst being challenged to flourish in our local community.
Our school proudly showcases an array of extra-curricular activities, encompassing Choir, Dance, African Drumming, and various PSSA sports including Netball, Soccer, Cricket, and Softball. Additionally, we offer enriching High Potential, Gifted Education programs such as Chess Club, Debating, Garden Club and our Playground Pals Leadership team, providing students with diverse avenues for exploration and growth.
Bonnet Bay Public School is privileged to maintain a robust and involved Parent and Citizens Association (P&C), which forms a dynamic partnership with our school. Members of the P&C actively contribute to and derive benefits from our school community, fostering an environment of collaboration. Participating in the school's P&C committee is a commendable approach to increasing one's involvement and working collaboratively as a team to support and encourage the educational journey of our students.
